This tea is made from ancient spring tea from Mengsong Township, Menglong District, Jinghong City. It has a strong, slightly bitter flavor, with a bitterness that doesn’t linger on the tongue and a sweetness that emerges in the aftertaste. The taste improves over time, with quick and lasting sweetness, making it suitable for multiple infusions. The leaves are thick and robust, with a distinct shine and high endurance for multiple infusions.

    Brewing Tips

    1. Rinse the Tea: For the first brew, use just enough water to cover the leaves. Use no more than 10g of tea (or one-fifth of the teapot’s capacity if using a different brewing vessel).
    2. Let the Tea Expand: Let the tea leaves naturally unfurl for 20-30 seconds before brewing.
    3. Brew: Use slightly more water for the second brew.
    4. Pouring: Pour along the wall of the teacup, and for the first 10 brews, keep the pouring time short.

    Village Introduction

"Mengsong" means "a flat valley among the mountains" in the Dai language. The Mengsong area has two distinct tea-growing regions. The one in Jinghong, near the China-Myanmar border, is known for its ancient tea trees, which are highly cherished by tea connoisseurs despite the area's remote location.
